Plumbing Apprentice eLearning

Image

The PHCC Educational Foundation offers plumbing apprentice eLearning courses in select California counties for apprentices who need a non-traditional method of receiving their apprenticeship-related instruction.

This program is recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment & Training Administration, Office of Apprenticeship, as a reasonable option for apprentice training.

Each course is the equivalent of one year of classroom instruction. On-the-job training must be coordinated with a participating employer.

The eLearning courses offer enhanced course quality and give students fast feedback on their performance.

Since there is no set schedule, apprentices pursuing eLearning must be self-disciplined and self-motivated to maintain steady progress.

When needed, most apprentices ask their employer or a colleague for assistance. Mentoring is also available through select local PHCC Chapters.

Code of Federal Regulations

This online course is expressly permitted in the Code of Federal Regulations as follows:

J.R. Pierce Plumbing
PHCC of the Sacramento Valley

I got into plumbing through a family member who worked in the trade and I started pushing for an apprenticeship. In July 2012, I became an apprentice in the PHCC and have acquired a vast amount of knowledge and understanding.  Applying this knowledge has allowed me to support my family.

Advantages of PHCC eLearning

While not the preferred method for most apprentices, eLearning offers several important advantages over a traditional classroom
